Geraldine Chew

Geraldine qualified as an IBCLC in 2010 and can visit mothers in a large radius from Twickenham.

She trained with the NCT and qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2005. Geraldine has worked extensively in the local community; helping mothers to breastfeed on the postnatal ward in West Middlesex hospital; running Breastfeeding Drop-Ins in Richmond, Twickenham and Hounslow; teaching antenatal classes for the NCT and visiting mothers and babies privately at home.

Sharon George

Sharon has been supporting families in her local area of Balham, Clapham and Battersea since 2009. Over that time she has helped hundreds of parents with a range of breastfeeding challenges, including issues such as positioning, tongue-tie or low milk supply.

She qualified as a Lactation Consultant in 2011 (IBCLC), and has a Diploma of Higher Education in breastfeeding counselling from the University of Bedfordshire (2009). Sharon offers consultations during weekdays and weekends to visit mothers in central, and south-west London.

She has 3 children of her own, who have helped teach her that every child is different and that each mother-and-baby pair is unique.

Helen qualified as an IBCLC in 2009 and can make home visits to families in Balham, Clapham, Wandsworth and Between the Commons, with appointments in Dulwich and Herne Hill available by arrangement. She was accredited as a La Leche League Leader (breastfeeding counsellor and group leader) in 2001, has led local breastfeeding mothers’ groups in Wimbledon, Clapham, and Balham, and helped to set up the Balham Breastfeeding Cafe.

Alongside more complex issues, Helen focuses on helping mothers to resolve painful breastfeeding and milk supply problems and can provide assessment and referral for tongue tie if necessary. The mother of three children, her professional work is rooted in some of the difficulties she encountered as a new mum herself.

Helen also runs professional workshops for IBCLCs. She is active on the Communications and Media group of Lactation Consultants of Great Britain (LCGB), the professional organisation for IBCLCs in the UK, and is on the social media teams for GOLD Lactation online conferences and for La Leche League GB. She is on Twitter at @HelenGrayIBCLC.

Joanna qualified as an NCT breastfeeding counsellor in 1996 and has supported families as a licensed NCT volunteer for over 20 years. She spent many years supporting new mothers on a busy NHS post-natal ward and ran breastfeeding support workshops for NHS staff.

In 2006, Joanna qualified as an IBCLC, and in 2009, she trained at Southampton General Hospital and became qualified to carry out infant tongue-tie assessments and divisions. She set up and ran an NHS Tongue-tie Clinic in a west London hospital and subsequently helped to set up a similar service in another NHS hospital. Joanna currently continues to volunteer with the NCT, teaches antenatal breastfeeding classes and works as an IBCLC in South West, Central and North London.
